RENOLIT ROOF ENHANCES THE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT OF BALLY SHOES

For the headquarters of the historical Swiss brand, the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Solar system is used, the perfect solution for the synthetic PVC-P coverings hosting the photovoltaic systems.

Sant Celoni, Barcelona, 27 07 2021 – Bally opts for RENOLIT to renew the covering of its headquarters in Caslano, Canton Ticino. The historical brand (founded in 1851), producer of luxury shoes and accessories, has over 250 shops scattered across historic centers of the world's major cities and in 72 duty free shops at major international airports. The brand has restored the old industrial shed, turning it into a site that is at the forefront of technology and environmental sustainability.

The project carried out by Enerbuild Swiss - a company specialised in complete solutions for the design, development and installation of high energy-efficient building enclosures - involved a total area of 3.225 square meters, for which the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN F 1.8 mm was initially used, a UV resistant synthetic PVC-P membrane with woven polyester reinforcing.

Close to the fasteners, the ultra-lightweight RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Solar system was installed by the company Romande Energie for a total of 2,238 meters, that equals to 746 profiles, where the support profiles of the photovoltaic panels were subsequently mounted.

In addition to being lightweight and durable, RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Solar has two important advantages, making it particularly suitable for synthetic PVC-P coverings that house photovoltaic systems: the waterproofing membrane doesn’t need to be pierced ever and no ballast weighing on the roof has be used to secure the solar panels.

RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Solar also has an easy, reliable and quick installation, and the maintenance or any replacement of photovoltaic panels are effortless to install. RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Solar has been technically approved (DIBt) and is able to withstand winds up to 200 km/h. On the roof of Bally the installed photovoltaic system has a power of 444kW, thanks to which now 85% of the total electricity and heating of the Caslano site is generated by solar panels. After the renovation of the roof, Bally shoes have a better and more sustainable ecological footprint over time.
