ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND LOWER IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT: EDF ENR – ÉLECTRICITÉ DE FRANCE CHOOSES RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR, THE PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL CARRIER SYSTEM
EDF ENR is the French company specialising in the local production of environmentally friendly renewable energy with no carbon emissions.
400 m2 of photovoltaic panels, providing 65 kWc of power, were installed at their Limonest headquarter in Lyon. The lightweight and extremely resistant RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR solar panel fixing system was used for installation.
Sant Celoni, Barcelona, 21 November 2019 – RENOLIT, a multinational company specialising in the production of high-quality plastic materials and leaders in the roof and covering waterproofing sector, contributed to the installation of a new photovoltaic system for the EDF ENR Limonest headquarter (Lyon). Eco-sustainability and energy savings are essential for a company that cares about the well-being and survival of the planet. This led to the decision to collaborate with RENOLIT, 10-year partner of EDF ENR, which demonstrated its ability to build highly energy-efficient projects. The photovoltaic panels cover 400 square meters of surface area with a power of 65 kWc and have been fixed thanks to the innovative RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR solution. This is a light, yet strong weight-bearing system made up of a synthetic profile and a square sectioned aluminium core. Hot air application makes it possible to fuse and anchor the profile to the waterproof membrane, to offer 100% safe wind and water proofing.
The EDF ENR headquarters is located in Limonest, a dynamic and environment-friendly area in the province of Lyon. Like the EDF Group it belongs to, the company is fully involved in fighting global warming and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Thanks to the installation of this photovoltaic system, EDF ENR is able to produce renewable, carbon-free energy locally, with a low environmental impact. What is more, the system makes it possible to meet the energy needs of over 100 collaborators on the same site, by supplying power for IT tools, heating, air-conditioning and charging for electric vehicles.
The RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR system allows for the modules to be fixed horizontally to the roof, in parallel to the roofing surface.
What is more, the extreme lightness and the absence of additional ballast made it possible to distribute the loads over the entire surface of the roof, with no risk of damaging the waterproof covering. Technically tested in every respect, RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR was subjected to wind speed at 210 km/h and passed the tests at the Von Karman Institute (VTI) with flying colours. Ease of maintenance and repair completes the benefits of RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR. All the elements of the system are easily accessible and if replacement of the photovoltaic panels is necessary, intervention is quick and easy and causes no damage to the underlying membrane.
Since it went into production, EDF ENR produced 25,000 kWh of energy, which accounts for 80% of the building's electrical needs. A very important result in economic, energy and environmental terms, which shows how self-consumption is the answer for the present and for the future.
RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR photovoltaic system in lightweight, durable and totally reliable roofing, benefits from a CSTB Technical Notice and ATEX, as well as an ETN validated by DEKRA Inspection. Its inclusion in the AQC Liste Verte makes it the leading product among the solar solutions currently available on the PVC membrane market.
This confidence of the AQC's Product Prevention Commission confirms RENOLIT's position as a leading expert on the roof, and as a leading player on the photovoltaic market.
RENOLIT ALKORSOLAR has obtained a Broof (t3) classification which allows it to be installed on all types of buildings.
With more than 10 years of experience in solar energy, RENOLIT, which has more than 800.000 m² of installed photovoltaic panels, has found the most suitable solution according to the technical constraints of the building and has contributed to the success of this project.
