RENOLIT GEOFOL FH: Trade fair première in Nuremberg

New laminating film for horizontal exterior surfaces presented at Fensterbau Frontale

At Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg, Worms-based surface specialist RENOLIT presented a new development live for the first time: RENOLIT GEOFOL FH, a robust and decorative film for lamination to horizontal exterior surfaces. The product could be seen at the trade fair stand in the floor area as well as on the information counter and raised beds. Visitors to Fensterbau Frontale were able to see the look, feel and non-slip properties of the film for themselves.

Until now, floors made of composite materials, aluminium or plastic profiles were limited in terms of design. "Outdoor areas of high-quality detached houses or even catering establishments are increasingly being seen as an architectural component within the overall building. This is why we have seen an increasing demand for design-orientated floor coverings for outdoor areas in recent years," says Stefan Friedrich, Managing Director of Exterior Solutions. The Worms-based surface specialist now has this growth market in its sights, as the new product can be used to match the colour of decking boards, balcony coverings or steps in front of the entrance door to the rest of the building's design. RENOLIT GEOFOL FH has been available to the market since the middle of last year.

    Up to ten years warranty

Floor coverings for outdoor use have to meet even more demanding standards than their indoor counterparts: In addition to scratch and abrasion resistance, there is also weather resistance and slip resistance. RENOLIT meets these requirements with an abrasion-resistant and corundum-containing UV protective layer, which protects the colours from fading, as well as providing a particularly scratch-resistant top layer. The rough surface structure provides the necessary slip resistance in wet conditions. "There is a guarantee of up to ten years for colour fastness in the Central European markets – a first in the field of industrially produced floor panels for outdoor use," explains David Sagerer, Director Product Management Exterior Solutions.

    Easy to clean

Another advantage: The surface of RENOLIT GEOFOL FH is not only extremely durable, but also resistant to weather-related residues. This greatly reduces the formation of verdigris and algae. Warm tap water and household washing-up liquid are completely sufficient for routine cleaning. "For heavier soiling, a specially developed cleaner can help, which specialist companies can obtain directly from RENOLIT," says David Sagerer.

RENOLIT GEOFOL FH is designed for laminating on to brand-new components. The film can be processed with standard profile wrapping machines using suitable hotmelt adhesives and is also designed for wrapping edges and soft radii. RENOLIT is working with selected partner companies to produce ready-to-install flooring panels using the high-performance film.
