Seal of quality for renovation film

RENOLIT REFACE receives RAL quality mark for metal facade renovation

Worms, May 22, 2023 - The subject of facade renovation has reached a new quality level: RENOLIT REFACE now bears the metal facade renovation quality mark (RAL GZ 635/3) with the addition of foil products for metal facade renovation. On May 9, 2023, Lars Walther, Managing Director of the Gütegemeinschaft Reinigung von Fassaden und Me-tallfassadensanierung e.V. - GRM (Quality Association for Cleaning of Facades and Metal Facade Renovation) officially presented the certificates to Stefan Schmatz, Head of the Facade Division at RENOLIT, and his team. Prior to this, the Worms-based film specialists had played a key role in the development of the quality and test specifications for the new quality marks as part of a consortium of four.

The certification process for film products takes around three months so that the institute can classify the tested products soundly and reliably. Decisive test factors are, for example, the durability of the film and the adhesive or the loss of color tone. For RENOLIT REFACE, for example, the solid colors and the decors were evaluated and certified separately. "The weathering behavior of a solid color has to be assessed differently from that of decors," Lars Walther explains the procedure. And it's not enough just to do it once: every three years, the institute tests a different decor/color constellation to keep an eye on the quality level.

A facade renovation is a process for maintaining the value of objects. The safer and more durable a system is, the better. "Metal facade foiling is a comparatively economical solution without interrupting use. With the industry-wide standardized quality mark and certification of RENOLIT REFACE, this innovative technology receives additional quality assurance," says Stefan Schmatz.
