First occupational health and safety weeks at RENOLIT

A variety of offers for employees make occupational safety tangible and promote a healthy lifestyle

Worms, 18 October 2022 - In the period from 5 to 14 October 2022, occupational health and safety weeks were held for the first time at the RENOLIT headquarters in Worms. At various locations on the factory premises in Horchheimer Straße, employees were able to find out about the topics of occupational health and safety and also experience for themselves the dangers that exist in everyday private and professional life.

Experiencing for themselves how limited the field of vision of forklift truck drivers is: RENOLIT employees at the station "Role reversal - What I can't see".
Pedal to the metal: employees trained their physical stamina at the spinning course.

The stations included, for example, a hands-on activity in which the employees learned about the potential dangers of a forklift truck for pedestrians. A course for so-called smombies, meaning people who are constantly looking at their smartphones and thus hardly notice their surroundings, was also part of the action weeks. A highlight in the health area was a spinning course, where employees were made to sweat by company sports trainers.

The programme also included a course on how to learn the stable side position, a body analysis to derive recommendations for one's own health and exercise behaviour, as well as lectures such as on the topic of "Good nutrition with shift work". The programme was supplemented by a typing campaign for stem cell donations for blood cancer patients organised by the RENOLIT youth and trainee representation in Worms in cooperation with DKMS.

"The safety and health of our employees is a top priority for us as a company. The extensive offers on the campaign days therefore not only focus on occupational health and safety, but also offer added value for the private sphere," explains Dr. Michael Bätz, General Manager of the RENOLIT headquarters in Worms.

Various stations of the occupational health and safety weeks invited to lectures and hands-on activities - including a course where employees could simulate and test their perception under the influence of alcohol with the help of intoxication goggles.
