    RENOLIT celebrates its 75th anniversary

The Worms-based film specialist is the global market leader and still cultivates its local roots

Worms/Germany, April 30th, 2021 – The Worms-based family-owned RENOLIT will celebrate its 75th birthday on May 4th 2021. Since its beginnings, the company has developed into the world market leader for high-quality plastic films and related products.

"Thanks to our employees, who contribute to our success with full commitment every day, we have developed into the successful company we are today", says Michael Kundel, Chief Executive Office of the RENOLIT Group. "Unfortunately, due to the Corona pandemic, no major anniversary celebration can take place this year. As a token of our appreciation, all employees worldwide will therefore receive an anniversary bonus and a gift box", Michael Kundel adds. "This way we can celebrate our anniversary - albeit separately - and look back on our company history with pride."

RENOLIT was founded in 1946 in "Building 127" on the site of the Cornelius Heyl leather factory in Kirschgartenweg in Worms/Germany.

The company's history begins in the post-war period: in 1946, Jakob Müller, a leather manufacturer from Kirn, founded Renolit-Werke GmbH - the original name of the new company, which was then still located on the premises of the Heylsche Lederwerke in Worms. Initially, the company produced high-performance plastic films as a substitute for leather, which was in short supply after the war.

Since then, the field of application has changed considerably: Nowadays, the company's products are used in numerous industries worldwide. Today, the independent family business operates as the RENOLIT Group at more than 30 production sites and sales locations in over 20 countries. Seven employees in 1946 have now grown to more than 4,800 worldwide.

RENOLIT is one of the largest employers in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and employs more than 1,400 people at its two Rhineland-Palatinate plants in Worms and Frankenthal. Worms is still the headquarter and at the same time the largest location. In addition to plants for the production of furniture and window profile films, facilities for research and development are also located there. Just as in the branch in Frankenthal, RENOLIT in Worms produces films for the graphics industry or for advertising purposes, for labelling and for product marking.

RENOLIT plastic films can be used to finish the surfaces of furniture and construction elements, to seal roof and civil engineering structures or to line swimming pools. The company produces films and tubes for medical applications and recyclable sheets as composite products with natural fibres for the construction and automotive industries. In addition, RENOLIT films are used to make products for office organisation, automotive interiors, self-adhesive products for the graphics and label industry as well as technical products. New in the range are a corrosion protection film for onshore wind turbines and furniture and storage solutions for garden, terrace and balcony.
