RENOLIT and Power Roll sign Joint Development Agreement marking a significant milestone for flexible solar film technology

Worms (Germany), Seaham (United Kingdom) 18 December, 2025 – RENOLIT, the globally active expert for high-quality polymer films headquartered in Germany, has signed a Joint Development Agreement (“JDA”) with Power Roll, the UK-based technology disruptor in lightweight flexible solar film on 10 November 2025. This partnership marks a major milestone, as RENOLIT prepares to host one of the first outdoor commercial trials of Power Roll’s solar film at its facilities in Germany.

As part of the 18-month agreement, RENOLIT will test and deploy Power Roll’s pioneering microgroove solar film in real-world conditions, validating its large-scale performance and durability. This marks a pivotal step in commercialising Power Roll’s unique solar film that transforms rooftops and other surfaces into clean energy generators.

Daniel Spang, Innovation Expert of RENOLIT and project lead, said: “This pilot project is the logical next milestone in our partnership with Power Roll. I am excited to see the first prototypes installed on our factory facade and to evaluate the full potential of this PV film technology. Every innovation project is unique, but this one excites me even more due to the technology, the team, and the prospect of bringing a new solution to the renewable energy market.”

Beyond the outdoor field trial, RENOLIT and Power Roll will collaborate to optimise advanced materials for the technology, positioning RENOLIT as a key innovative supplier for PV films and adjacent industries.
