Data security is a key issue in today's digital world. Companies and organizations are increasingly faced with the challenge of managing and protecting large volumes of sensitive information.
We are rising to the challenge and taking further steps to ensure that all data is classified according to its sensitivity and secured accordingly.
Our aim is to work with you to promote the responsible handling of information and maintain a trusting working relationship, including in the areas of data protection and data security. Your support is important in order to implement the necessary measures and effectively guarantee the protection of your and our data.
Because data security is important to us, we are introducing a data classification for the use of digital documents on May 5, 2025. This affects the Microsoft 365 apps: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Reasons why you cannot open, edit or print a document:
- from the Confidential level, you need Internet access to open these documents.
- if you are already using Microsoft 365 in your company, you should be able to open the document as usual. If you are using other operating systems, you will need the Purview Information Protection Client and authentication.
- missing authorizations; please contact the sender to check the required authorizations.
To open a document with the classification ‘Confidential’ and/or ‘Secret’, you need Microsoft M365.
If you do not use Microsoft M365 in your company, please download the Microsoft Purview Information Protection Viewer.

Confidential | Secret: From this level onwards, you will need Internet access to open these documents.
