Renolit UK Limited is a leading manufacturer of high-quality exterior PVC window films and interior kitchen films, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for residential and commercial applications. Our products are designed to deliver long-term durability, aesthetic appeal and high performance in demanding environments. 

To support our ongoing product development and durability testing programmes, we are seeking a motivated Development Technician to join our R&D team. 

The Development Technician will play an important role in supporting the R&D department by coordinating and operating Accelerated Weathering Programme, which evaluates the long-term performance and durability of our exterior films. The successful candidate will lead the operation of the weathering facility for part of the week and work closely with other testers to ensure continuous testing coverage.

In addition, the role involves laboratory work focused on evaluating new pigments and developing pigment formulations with improved weather resistance. 

Your tasks at RENOLIT

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Accelerated Weathering Programme, ensuring testing is carried out effectively and within specified time constraints.

  • Ensure that all weathering machines and associated testing equipment are maintained in good working condition to minimise downtime.

  • Monitor and evaluate outdoor exposure samples and record performance results.

  • Identify and promote improvements to the weathering programme, testing procedures, and equipment setup.

  • Contribute to the interpretation of weathering test results in relation to product construction, formulation changes and durability performance.

  • Evaluate and analyse new pigments and develop pigment formulations to improve colour stability and weather resistance.

  • Conduct laboratory experiments and record results accurately, preparing clear technical reports where required.

  • Work collaboratively with R&D, production, and quality teams to support product development and improvement projects.

What we expect

  • Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Science is essential.

  • Knowledge of colour chemistry or pigment technology would be an advantage.

  • Ability to plan, organise and carry out laboratory testing and analyse results effectively.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, and proactive with strong attention to detail.

This role is UK based and starting employment will be conditional on the candidate's right to work in the UK.  Visa sponsorship by RENOLIT UK is not available.
