RENOLIT ALKORPLAN present at the World Championship in Shanghai

New competition and training pool lined with RENOLIT ALKORPLAN 2000

In this sense, RENOLIT was present at the 14th edition of FINA, World Championships in Shanghai, which took place in the small city from the 16th to the 31st July. The World Championship hosted the five aquatic disciplines: swimming, water polo, diving, open water and synchronized swimming, and some segments accounted for the classification of the 2012 Olympic Games.   

FINA, International Swimming Federation, is the governing body of the five aquatic disciplines and advocates the following objectives: to promote and encourage the development of swimming as well as international relations; adopting the necessary rules and regulations to match all the swimming modalities; organise the World Championships and FINA competitions; and increase the number of swimming facilities worldwide. 

To meet these objectives, FINA has the invaluable collaboration of RENOLIT, whose reinforced membranes RENOLIT ALKORPLAN 2000 have been present in this important championship, confirming the experience and tradition of the company’s quality linings in international swimming events.

Thus, Myrtha Pools, client of RENOLIT, was responsible for the construction of two swimming pools which included the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN 2000 reinforced membrane for their lining. Hence, both the main swimming pool used to the swimming competition, as well as the training pool, were lined with  RENOLIT ALKORPLAN 2000 reinforced membranes, which is a sign of confidence in our products from the organisation of this prestigious championship. 

The main swimming pool of the competition was installed in three weeks, providing an incredible performance. This swimming pool was built on soil, as the stadium will be used in the future for other events, with a dimension of 50 x 25 x 3 meters. It was an elevated pool, with panels and lined entirely by the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN 2000 membranes. The training swimming pool was built the same way with the following dimensions 50 x 20 x 20 metres.
