1. What material is used for the manufacturing of RENOLIT ONDEX panels?
The material selected by RENOLIT ONDEX for the production of its panels is non-plasticized polyvinyl chloride. This material can be bi-oriented to boost its mechanical performance.
2. What is bi-orientation?
BI-ORIENTATION of RENOLIT ONDEX panels consists in drawing the panels during production, under carefully defined and controlled temperature and speed conditions, in the longitudinal and transversal directions. BI-ORIENTATION increases the cohesion of the modules of the material so that they are "interlinked" in a way; this necessarily increases the bi-oriented panel mechanical properties without the addition of chemical reinforcing agents to the material. For instance, the resilience under traction shock (R under T) test on an RENOLIT ONDEX bi-oriented panel is 1.5 to 3 times greater than that of a non-bi-oriented panel.
3. What protection is provided from sunlight?
Protection from sunlight, or more accurately protection from the ultraviolet radiation of the sun is obtained by a co-extrusion process. This process consists in depositing on one or both sides of the panel during extrusion, a thin film of the same basic material as the panel itself in which a high concentration of anti-UV chemical agents has been incorporated. UV radiation destroys unprotected synthetic materials and the role of anti-UV chemicals in the coextruded layer is to stop the passage of part of the sun's UV radiation. The side protected by coextrusion should face the sun. At present, anti-UV protection by coextrusion is the best protection available.
4. What are the curve radius?
The maximum curve radii through which RENOLIT ONDEX panels can be put will depend upon their shape, the length of the panels and their use. You can find the bending radius of our sheets on the products specifications available for each reference on our web site.
5. What is the resistance of the panels to hail?
Tests demonstrate that the bombardment of nylon balls weighing 38 g and having a diameter of 40 mm, projected at more than 200 km/h is ineffective on RENOLIT ONDEX BI-ORIENTED panels maintained at a temperature of 0°C. The performance obtained during this test is far in excess of the standards required for water-proofing of a roof by SIA 280 (standard SN construction 564-280). This resistance to hail is covered by a guarantee (see the guarantee conditions).
6. Will RENOLIT ONDEX panels resist impacts?
RENOLIT ONDEX BI-ORIENTED panels will resist hard impact such as that of hailstones and also resist the impact of tennis balls while the HR panel range (with profiles and colours defined in the test reports) will resist the falling of a large soft body developing 1200 J energy under the conditions defined in France by the recommendations of the INRS (National Safety Research Institute) ND 1990-159-95 and the conditions defined in our specification.
7. What are the panel lengths?
RENOLIT ONDEX panels can be supplied in lengths of up to 12 m. Standard lengths are provided for some profiles (consult us). RENOLIT ONDEX panels can be delivered to utilization length as long as a supplement is paid for the cutting expenses.
8. What are the panel widths?
RENOLIT ONDEX panels have a shape and designation corresponding to metallic or cement fiber panels and the same characteristics in terms of width as such metal or cement fiber panels. Other RENOLIT ONDEX panels with shapes specific to RENOLIT ONDEX and special widths (see technical data sheets) are available.
9. What are the guarantees?
RENOLIT ONDEX panels are covered by legal or manufacturer guarantees. These guarantees are drawn up according to the use and location.
10. What is the fire rating?
The behavior of RENOLIT ONDEX panels in fire has led to them being granted a fire rating M1, non-dripping type (document NF P 92-507). In a simulated fire, the panels burn up without propagating flame and do not generate drops. When placed upon a source of strong heat, RENOLIT ONDEX panels will retract allowing any fumes to escape.
11. What is the delivery deadline?
Delivery deadlines depend on the quantities and place of delivery; in all cases, RENOLIT ONDEX will take all necessary steps to meet your demands.
12. Is the product durable?
Yes, because the excellent durability obtained with RENOLIT ONDEX panels is the result of the association of COEXTRUSION and BI-ORIENTATION during manufacturing.
13. What are the ranges of use of RENOLIT ONDEX panels?
RENOLIT ONDEX panels will tolerate temperatures ranging from -30°C continuously to +60°C.
