Poverty increases in Germany. It becomes apparent at the distribution places of the “Tafel“. The charitable organisation “Tafel” in Worms cannot substitute a lack of insufficient earnings or social contribution. However, by giving remaining food to needy people the organisation enlarges the scope of action for the people. Through information and the presence of consultants, the affected persons receive additional support.

To be homeless, without medical insurance, poor and sick may have serious consequences. People with medical issues have the right to receive medical treatments. Therefore, the “Gesundheitsladen” (“the health shop”) is open to people who normally have no access to health care because they are homeless, very poor or without medical insurance. Doctors and nurses work there in a voluntary capacity.

There is food in abundance, in Germany nevertheless some people have to starve every day. The "Tafeln" are aiming to reach a balance in between these differences: They are collecting remaining food in good quality and give it to the needy.

Street Doc is a cooperative project providing health care for disadvantaged groups. Doctors and dentists offer free medical care at social hot spots in the city of Ludwigshafen and surroundings of the town. This offer is for homeless people, asylum seekers or people without medical insurance.

The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House provides a community supported “home-away-from-home” for families coming into Pasadena to seek advanced medical treatment for their critically or terminally ill children. Many people must travel great distances looking for treatments and answers not found near their home. American RENOLIT Corporation LA provides monetary contributions and take part in the “Meals of Love”. A program that allows our employees to volunteer their time and prepare meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

“Crisis Newcastle“ is a charity for single homeless people, which throughout the year provides these homeless people with help to find accommodation, provide training to help them become more employable and to provide support with mental and physical health.
Over Christmas Day and Boxing Day, they will provide a warm and welcoming Christmas for over 300 homeless people – hot and cold meals over the two days, health services, entertainment and free clothing provided from donations from the public. Two of RENOLIT Cramlington’s employees will be working as volunteers with the Charity over Christmas.
