What is PRESSED POLISHED?
RENOLIT manufactures its RENOLIT FLEXGLAS sheet on a dedicated pressed products line. Vinyl film is first calendered before being cut into sheets and pressed at high temperature between two polished steel plates. This process both optimises the transparency of the sheet whilst removing the stresses and strains normally associated with calendered film. The result is a product with a clear glass finish that neither shrinks nor yellows in sunlight, nor cracks when it freezes. What is more, it is easy to process and can be welded, sewn or bonded to itself or other materials.
Whilst these products have been used for many years in the automobile industry as rear windows for convertible-top classic cars and on SUVs, they also find application as boat canopies and spray hoods, tent windows, blinds and awnings. RENOLIT also has a maxi-sheet RENOLIT SEAFLEX version that is designed especially for the marine market.
