For the third time in succession, RENOLIT has been named one of the twenty most successful Hidden Champions in Germany. According to the latest issue of the German business magazine “WirtschaftsWoche”, the internationally-active family-owned company was ranked 17th. Compared to the last survey in 2013, RENOLIT dropped one place but made clear progress in both evaluation indices and increased its score by a total of 5.9 points.
The reason for this development was a number of strong newcomers: Five companies from diverse industrial sectors managed to get into the top twenty Hidden Champions at their first attempt – in 2013 there were only two. “This development shows that an increasing number of medium-sized companies are succeeding internationally and are investing in their brands and therefore their images” notes Michael Kundel, the Chairman of RENOLIT SE.
The Worms-based film specialist has been following this approach for years: Focused marketing and communications activities as well as consistent work on the RENOLIT brand characterize the company’s external perception. “Apart from an outstanding product which delivers what it promises and qualified employees, communications and image are important prerequisites for success in international markets” stresses Michael Kundel who is also very happy with the company’s ranking. “Continuity in our communications pays off: We are perceived as a reliable company which cultivates partnership with our customers”.
Since 2011, the Hidden Champions Ranking has been commissioned by the WirtschaftsWoche Business Magazine and is organized by the independent market research institute Biesalski & Company. On one hand, a company’s development is evaluated according to its sales growth, profitability, innovative momentum, competence and market position. The other index is brand development which includes brand recognition, the quality of marketing activities, brand reputation and loyalty as well as the commercial success which the brand generates.
The RENOLIT Group is an international leader in the manufacture of high-quality plastic films and related products for technical applications. This independent family-owned business, which has been setting benchmarks for quality and innovation for over 65 years, now employs a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees at more than 30 production sites and sales entities. In the fiscal year 2014, the Group generated a turnover of EUR 915.8 million.
