Worms, 29 August 2016 – They should be lightweight as well as hardwearing and, on top of everything, look stylish. Interior fittings and units for motorhomes and caravans are seen as the ultimate in lightweight construction. With its RENOLIT WOODSTOCK composite panels and the RENOLIT GORCELL composite material, RENOLIT sets new standards in this challenging market segment. The company manufactures both material types at its Italian production site in Buriasco. They form the basis of almost all components for interior fittings: floor and ceiling panels, cupboards and wall panelling – RENOLIT supplies virtually anything for caravans.
RENOLIT Woodstock consists of a thermoplastic WPC substrate (wood plastic composite) – a combination of natural fibres and polymers, which are formed under pressure and heat. The 1-3 millimetre thick material for the panels can be processed into a three-dimensional form and is very dimensionally stable despite its minimal wall thickness. The surface structure of the composite material is suitable for both film lamination and fleece lamination. In addition, RENOLIT WOODSTOCK is also hydrophobic (the water absorption capacity is below three percent) and fully recyclable. If a decorative surface is required, the entire design range of RENOLIT 2D and 3D films with over 400 colours and patterns is available to choose from.
Half the weight
RENOLIT GORCELL is a combination of RENOLIT WOODSTOCK and an ultra-light honeycomb structure. It is produced in a continuous production process from a thermoplastic film and is then sandwiched between composite panels as the outer layers. Both the process and the end product are so far unique in Europe in this form. Another advantage: RENOLIT GORCELL is fully recyclable.
Thermoforming produces complex components that are lightweight and durable at the same time: Interior panelling of a caravan weighs up to 50 percent less compared to conventional furniture based on plywood. The composite panels are resistant to high pressure and impact as well as water and moisture which means that they are also suitable for external caravan parts such as locker covers and doors.
RENOLIT GORCELL can be coated with different surface materials (for example, non-woven materials, scratch protection films, various fibres or decorative RENOLIT films). Ceilings, walls and furniture fronts of a caravan can therefore be constructed in a matching surface design and appear to be seamless. Timeless, elegant woods such as walnut decors with subtle metallic effects or restful oak are currently on trend. RENOLIT decors Macadamia Nut and Monte Carlo oak, which is available in two colours, are typical representatives of this trend which is also reflected in the surface struc-tures: Here matt/gloss finishes such as the wood emboss Natinga and deep high-gloss textures like Move are favourites with customers.
The RENOLIT Group is an international leader in the manufacture of high-quality plastic films and related products for technical applications. The independent family-owned business, which has been setting benchmarks for quality and innovation for over 70 years, currently employs around 4,500 people at more than 30 production sites and distribution companies. The Group has achieved a turnover of 963.5 million euros for the 2015 financial year.
