New Jersey restaurant emerges with fresh lustre

High-grade RENOLIT wooden decors were used for the wall decoration at the main entrance to ensure a stylish welcome for guests. For the central bakery counter directly opposite, the architect also used decorative panels in the form of RENOLIT thermolaminates. Although they are in a different colour tone, they still display the same structure and as such blend in perfectly with the overall image of the restaurant. „This would not have been possible with any
other material,“ states Kavrakis.

The main eye-catching feature of the diner is, however, the 5.8 metre S-shaped curve winding right through the central
section of the restaurant. It was entirely and seamlessly created from RENOLIT thermolaminates. This lends it its flowing look, which likewise would not have been the case with either any other laminates or solid wood.

For Kavrakis, the important properties of the material were its great durability and the cost aspect. He is very satisfied with the overall impression created by his project which re-opened in 2012. He describes it as both „traditional“ and
„modern European“ at the same time.

„This is an impression normally only found in world-class hotels, and one for which you normally have to book a flight.”
