At the “International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference” the RENOLIT Group has presented a new solution for the backside of photovoltaic modules. RENOLIT REFLEXOLAR 1500 PO is made by co-extrusion from specially developed polymers. The back sheet is recyclable, halogen and solvent free. It is designed to increase module output, resist abrasion and minimize glass warpage. Further, thanks to superior water and acetic acid barrier properties, EVA corrosion is reduced.
The co-extruded back sheet is suited for the construction of PV modules with 72 cells or more that are 1500 VDC rated and meet IEC 61730 Ed2 requirements. The new product was presented by Francois Rummens, Project Manager at the Business Unit RENOLIT ADVANCED SHEETS: “When we developed this new product, RENOLIT could use his decades long experience in PP alloy roofing membranes and advanced co-extrusion techniques.”
Francois Rummens is sure that the new back sheet will play an important role in the future: “The backside of RENOLIT REFLEXOLAR 1500 PO is based on Polypropylene alloys and opens the door to new production techniques using welding and additive manufacturing”
