And in times like this you no longer require a keyboard for your PC either, as the signals for the computer are triggered by contact pads integrated in the desktop. A utopia? Not at all, if you consider the advances that have been achieved within the past 20 years in the areas of material science and communications technology. The notion of futuristic developments only appears utopian when you compare them to current state-of-the-art. To overcome this alleged threshold is the mission of HORIZON. What is the meaning of HORIZON? HORIZON is the think tank of RENOLIT AG. Within this innovation platform the team members fathom opportunities for new film products and shed light on the prospects of new business areas. The intended time period for such projects is between two and five years. What is the aim of HORIZON? HORIZON focuses on looking beyond established boundaries. This platform is a fusion of impulses for new raw materials and technologies, new functionalities and new markets. New projects for the future arise that will safeguard and expand the entrepreneurial success of RENOLIT in long term. What is the approach of HORIZON? HORIZON aims at creating connections and considers itself as a network of intra-corporate and external partners who wish to provide their commitment to the future of the RENOLIT Group and their products. The most diverse ideas, substantiated and developed on a joint basis, form the launch platform for future-oriented projects. Who can participate in HORIZON? Anybody with good ideas – whether employee or “external party“. The basis for alternative ways of thinking is creativity just as much as experience; ideas can emerge from the circle of clients or from suppliers, they can be invented in the research laboratory or result from technical practice; or even from the day-to-day handling of the respective raw materials or with the items produced from plastic films.
