| Miter folding is an innovative method of mitering the edges of two or more sections of pre-laminated wood sheet at any angle, with no visible outside seam, giving a solid, of-one-piece appearance to the finished component. This is accomplished by laminating the wood sheet with RENOLIT film, then routing a V-groove (miter) across the backside of the sheet—deep enough to penetrate the wood but without touching the film. Both mitered wood edges are then coated with adhesive and hinged on the film to close the groove, forming an outside corner that is hidden by seamless film. In addition to eliminating outside seams, miter folding with RENOLIT film can significantly reduce labor and material costs while improving the alignment and structural integrity of cabinets, adjoining panels, tapered furniture legs and other mitered components.
